The snorkeling is strong, the vibe is easy, and families in particular find it hits the sweet spot — first-time visitors who aren’t sure usually feel safest choosing Gili Air, and the island rewards that instinct. Choose Gili Air if you want the island dream with a functioning espresso machine and no obligation to party.

Gili Meno — for romance

The smallest island, sitting between its two siblings, is the one for switching off entirely: secluded beaches, a handful of low-key resorts, and evenings so quiet you can hear the tide change. It’s the classic honeymoon pick, and couples who want privacy love it. Just know what you’re signing up for — fewer restaurants, fewer boats, fewer distractions of any kind. That’s the whole point.
